Mel Gibson's goose may finally be cooked. Yet another story of technology exposing a celebrity's private douchebaggery.

The actor/director is reportedly under investigation for domestic violence by the LA County Sheriff's Department for allegedly striking girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, according to TMZ.

She claims he was violent toward her several times, the worst of which allegedly happened in January and February. She also told deputies she secretly tape recorded Gibson because she feared for her safety. She denied under oath that she's the source of the leaked tape, which she was prohibited from doing by the judge in the custody case against Gibson. They reached a custody agreement with a mediator in May. 

TMZ confirmed Gibson is heard on the tape screaming at her "You look like a f*king pig in heat and if you get raped by a pack of (the N word) it will be your fault." He's also reportedly heard calling her a "whore" and "c*t."

So much for reinventing himself as the kinder, gentler Mel. You'll recall that he got busted for DUI in 2006, going off on Jews and blaming them for "all of the wars in the world." He had recovered quite nicely, but I don't know if he'll be able to charm his way out of this one.

Gibson's side says he has put her up in a multi-million dollar house, bought her a car, provided health insurance and gave her "tens of thousands of dollars to support her and Lucia (their daughter)." After she refused to let him see the kid on Father's day, he allegedly moved to stop paying any support.

I'm betting that Mel loves his daughter but probably wishes he hadn't hooked up with this Oksana chick and broke apart his previous marriage over her. Was this just some hot chick he was cheating with who lied about using birth control?

I don't know if these allegations of violence are true, but no matter how angry they make us, it's never appropriate to hit one's girlfriend or wife.
